Starting With a Plan
- Identify at least two passionate jazz fans willing to lead development of the program plan and to recruit resident volunteers and Patrons.
- Decide who will book musicians.
- Assess the venue. Concert funding and quality depends on seating capacity.
- 130 seats have been shown sufficient to support a 5-8 event concert season.
- Consider starting with a mix of skilled local musicians and add nationally recognized players as Patronage builds from season to season. National groups often require a booking at a public venue to make the trip affordable for your private concert series.
- Keep in mind that local musicians bring their own instruments. Traveling groups may need bass and drums to be supplied.
- Tailor the number and category of musicians presented to the level of Patron contributions and add concerts over time.

Soliciting Patrons and Concert Sponsors
- A solicitation with the types and numbers of live jazz concerts to be produced is likely to motivate many residents to become contributing Patrons for the season. Patron contributions obviate the need for ticket sales.
- First season Patron contributions could be in the range of $50 to $100 per person depending on the number of concerts. With a property of 250 persons it would not be surprising to have 50 Patrons at the $100 level to begin the first season and build from there over time.
- Examples of Patron solicitations and typical individual presentations and season programs are available and will be posted to the File Section as this site matures.
- It is likely that residents will desire to sponsor concerts for special events such as birthdays and anniversaries. A fee is appropriate and an important funding source.
- You are important to us. Contact us to discuss questions. This is a volunteer effort so please be patient as to response time.
